Keep needles out of the gutters, since they trap water above the fascia and bring rot as well as mosquitoes. Rake leaf litter and bark away from the foundation so the slab margin can dry out. Store firewood clear of the ground and well away from the walls. And lay a dry gravel or bark strip where lawn meets woodland, which measurably reduces tick pressure.
